Presidents Report:  Edie Dunlap,  breezy1@tdstelme.net

Jeff and Jen where again thanked for allowing us to have our meeting at the Stratton Plaza today.

We received a letter from Camp Sunshine thanking us for our donation of $300.00 in memory of Adrien Brochu and a letter from Stratton-Eustis Lions Club for our donation to their snack pack program.

The club’s ride and lunch at Tim Pond Camps is next Saturday August 15th. We will be having hamburgers, hot dogs, salad, drinks and dessert. The price will be $15.00 per person. We will be meeting at Johnny’s Park n Ride at 9:00 and leaving by 9:30. Masks will need to be worn while in line getting lunch, other than that they are optional. We cannot add any more people to the ride at this time as we are at the maximum they are allowed to have.

The new Park n Ride sign at Johnny’s parking lot has been put up and we have one that will go at Quincy’s Field this week.

An order for club clothing has been placed with Logo Logic in Bingham. We should have them by the next meeting.

I received an e-mail from Betsy Cook with an attachment of the Forest Legacy Application with reference to the Perham/Quill Hill property. There is a paragraph in the Application that states the existing official ATV and snowmobile trails will be maintained.  With this statement in writing I will now send in our letter of support as we voted on in our June meeting.

Even though it was a smaller version of Family Fun Days this year there was a good turnout. We made $210.00 selling our strawberry shortcakes and water. Thanks to Bruce & Dianne Wyman along with Wendy Wyman for helping me with the setup, selling and take down.

Dale, Fred, Gloria and I took a ride up on Quill Hill to check out the new sign of Adrien Brochu’s picture. It is very nice and the pamphlets giving the history of Quill Hill are a nice addition as well. We deposited the $400.00 into the donation box while we were there.

Our club ride to Kennebago Lookout will be on Saturday September 26th, rain date for October 3rd. Please let me know if you want to go so we can order what we need for hamburgers and hotdogs.

Saddleback is still working towards opening and we are hopeful that a new trail connection for the Moose Loop will have a chance to happen.

Trail Master’s Report: Dale Dunlap, breezy1@tdstelme.net

We finished the Sawyer Brook Trail from the Pole Line to the gravel pit by Tea Pond. It has also been hayed where we put in the new culverts.

The Forester for Wagner and Jim Brochu met at the washout on Tim Pass and has decided to put in one huge culvert in there instead of a bridge. Wagner has the culvert and Jim Brochu will be installing it. We will cost share with Wagner on the project.

AFM decided to make a road on our Carrabassett Trail for logging. Jim Brochu is doing the work and we are cost sharing with AFM to improve our part of the trail as well. The trail will be closed on and off while they are doing work in there.

Thanks to Ben Wyman and Chris Currier for helping us with the haying that needed to be done.

The trail from behind Flagstaff Fuel to Rt. 27 by Spillover Motel has been worked on. Culvert was reset, water was drained and gravel was hauled in to fill the holes. Thank you to Absolut for their donation of gravel for the project.

Fred reported he is on Tim Pass doing improvements on the trail with the Excavator and will be finishing up some little jobs on different parts of the trail before the Excavator goes back to the rental company.

Our next meeting is Sunday, September 13th, 2020 at 10:00. We hope that the Community Building will be available then but if not we will be able to have it at the Stratton Plaza again.  Please check either Facebook or the website to see where the meeting will be held.
