Flagstaff Area ATV Club Minutes – October 8, 2023

5 members were present. The meeting was brought to order at 10:00 a.m. by President Edie Dunlap with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Presidents Report:  Edie Dunlap, breezy1@tdstelme.net

The Brochu Bridge project is projected to start in the next couple of weeks. At that point, we will be shutting down that trail for the remainder of the season.

We had a really nice day for the cookout at Natanis Campground last Saturday, with 29 people attending. Thanks to everyone who helped with the set up and take-down/clean-up; it was amazing how fast it was done! The food everyone brought was great, and Dale and Joe did a good job manning the grills. A huge thanks to Bob and Tashia Adams for opening up their facility for the club’s cookout!

With the year wrapping up, I want to thank everyone for any and all of their help and support during this year. It was a tough year for trailwork, especially for Fred and Dale, who worked hard just trying to keep things open with all the rain we have had. It was discouraging at times. Just when you get a trail fixed and move on to the next one, we would get more rain that took out the trail they had just fixed. Let’s hope for a dryer year in 2024 (but not to dry).

Unfortunately, with not enough members present, we could not elect officers. We will do that at our first meeting, which will be April 14th, 2024. Our secretary, Diane Wyman, has resigned, and we would like to thank her for all her help.

The trails will close on Friday October 27th. It has been a tough year and wanted to thank everyone who helped and especially his Assistant Fred Smith who has done a tremendous amount of work with the excavator on repairing trails so that they did not have to be closed.

The 50/50 was won by Fred Smith (donated it back), Door Prize was won by Lyman Snow. The 50/50 end of the year gift basket drawing was won by Fred Smith.

Meeting adjourned at 10:45 am.

Our next meeting will be on April 14th 2024, at 10:00 am at the Stratton Community Building.
