Presidents Report:  Edie Dunlap, breezy1@tdstelme.net

  • Our club ride to Tim Pond Lodge was a great time, we had great food and enjoyed our ride. We had 35 members and 21 machines.
  • The next club ride will be Saturday, September 28th for our picnic at the lookout on the Canyon Trail; rain date will be Saturday, October 5th . PLEASE call Edie at 643-2920 or Elaine  229-2055 before Monday, September 23rd  if you are attending and if you are bringing a side dish, please try to update us so we can update ours and know what we will need to finish off a great club picnic menu. The club will furnish the hamburgers and hot dogs. Same as last year please bring your fold up chairs and water or soda. We will meet at the Eustis parking lot at 9:45 am and leave at 10:00 am. Thank you.
  • The November final meeting of our 2019 season will be a Christmas Party. Sunday, November 10th.  Next month’s meeting on October 13th we will have a signup sheet for a food list. And don’t forget your Yankee swap gift ($10.00).
  • We will be doing our renewal of Officers for 2020 year at the November meeting also.
  • At the last meeting it was mentioned that getting a small excavator from Bobcat Rental in New Hampshire would be a big help on the trails for a few weeks doing work that was hard to do with the Kubota’s. We were able to get one for $3300 for 4 weeks along with the liability insurance required by the landowners for $386.25 from V & V insurance. In the two weeks we have had it a lot or work has gotten done quicker and some could not have gotten done with the Kubota’s. The Trail master and Assistant will fill in where they have been working and what they hope to get done with it before it goes back. While working with V & V insurance it was brought up that both Dale and Fred’s personal tractors were not covered to work on the trails with any liability insurance. Dale from V & V said that if the tractors were leased to the club for a certain amount of money that they could cover them with the 2 million dollars liability that was needed for them to have them on the trail. The cost for 2 million of liability insurance would be $144.05 for both of them for one year. A simply contract was drawn up for Dale and Fred each to lease their tractors to the club for $100.00 for a year to work on the trails. Our board of directors has signed the contract as well as The President and Vice President of the Club.

  • Have been back over to the Carrabassett Trail to reset 3 culverts, replace one culvert, fix the hole by a bridge and fixed two mud holes that had developed on the trail.
  • The excavator has been taken from the start of the Eustis Trail all the way through to Tim Pond Road removing rocks, fixing mud holes, ditching, fixing culverts, water bars.
  • The muddy rocky section on John’s way has had the bigger rocks removed, culvert put in and gravel brought in to fill that section in.
