March Newsletter 2009

Flagstaff Area A.T.V. Club. Meeting March 8th, 2009 - Meeting brought to order at ten o' clock

Presidents Notes/Don:

1.) Wilton Sportsman Show. March 20th, 21st, and 22nd we will have booth number 502
Dick and Don will set up on Friday
Breakdown is Sunday from 5-9
Volunteers will be needed to man the booth (contact Dick or Don)

2.) FABA is spearheading a memorial dedicated to Lynn Fotter at the the Stratton school
Club voted to donate 200 dollars

3.) Family fun days will be the last weekend in June the theme will be the wild wild west.
We will have a booth.

4.)The Flags Over Flagstaff Campaign has fifteen more flags to sell, see Sue Fotter at Fotter's Market to get your flag

5.) Club voted to donate 100 dollars to the Pine Tree Society Spring Appeal

6.) Dick and Don attended A.T.V Maine meeting

They presented information and requests to the clubs to mark all their trails for fire and rescue. Our club has been doing this for years. Yay weÌre ahead of the game!!!!! Irving Oil in the county will allow local clubs ONLY to ride on their land- if you join their club you can ride there.

 

Vice Presidents Notes/Sandi:

Due to the problems we have had with our website in the past, the club has voted to contract Pine Tree Publishing to host and maintain our website.

 

Treasurers Notes/Bob:

We are in excellent shape for the start of our season.

 

Memberships Notes/Ruthanne:

To date we have eighty five paid members
Members are sending in stamps and donations with their dues in appreciation for our trails.
Thank you all for getting in your memberships as soon as possible, the paperwork is more easily done before the trail riding begins.

 

Trail Master's Notes/Dick:

1.) The club is selling their tow behind excavator for 2,500 dollars. Anyone interested please contact Dick.

2.) Dick as has asked Wagner for a new loop trail which will be an extension of Sawyer Brook Trail.

3.) We have eight land owner permits to renew.

4.) We are still working with the Indian Nation for a connector trail to Carrabassett and Kingfield.

 

New Business:

Jake Distranski: Project manager of the Kibby Wind Project addressed the club concerning how they intend to work with us on multi use land.

Justin Ladd environmental liaison for the Kibby Wind Project addressed the club concerning how safety and environmental issues will impact the club.

Sandra Isgro addressed the club concerning a land owner and family appreciation outing. Date to be announced.

Barry Crafts offered to donate a pig roast.

Jennifer and Jordan Crafts offered to organize games.

Dick offered to lead a trail ride. Possibilities include a scavenger hunt, swimming, as well as volley ball and horse shoes. Any other ideas will be discussed at the clubs next meeting. The next meeting will be the 12th of April.
