PRESIDENTS' NOTES
Don Plante
Don started the meeting at 10:05 am. It was felt that we should open our meetings from now on with a salute to the Flag as ATV Maine and other clubs are doing. It's time for the 4th annual Sportsman Show. It will be held in Wilton at Nichols Complex. This will be held on Mar. 21-23rd and our booth  will be #204, Don and Dick will set up on Thurs. Mar. 20th. Do you have an hour or two to spare? If so, please contact Dick at (207)246-3201 Or Don (207)246-5946.
ATV Maine is asking for help at the Augusta Sports Show in the Safety trailer. 8 volunteers are needed to help with the kid's course. Contact Joy Harvey at (207)767-5412.
Don has discussed another safety course with Rodney our safety officer. Rodney will try to set up 3 courses over the summer and fall so everyone can participate.
Don and Dick will speak to the Penobscot Indian Nation to secure permits for our trails in Alder Stream and Carrabassett Valley. The permits will cost more this year.
Don suggested that we amend the Sec. M #2 of our By Laws, "in an emergency expenditure's above $500.00 (with a maximum of $1000.00) with the majority of members voting yes to the expense and all members being notified."
Pending Amendment:  in an emergency expenditures above $500.00 (not to exceed ½ of the monies on hand) with the majority of members voting yes to the expense and all members being notified.
This amendment will be discussed and voted on at the next meeting on April 13th.

TRAIL MASTERS REPORT
Dick Smith
Dick has talked to all Foresters except Plum Creek about our trails. It looks like all trails will be the same with almost all the entire landowners permission slips in. (We are waiting on 4) HURRAH!
Dick will represent the club at the Eustis Firemen's Meeting to discuss safety zone signs for our trails.
Dick and Don will discuss the Sept. 1st closing on Carrabassett Trail with the Penobscot Indian Nation. We would like this trail to stay open longer as it does not interfere with their hunting season. We will also be building a 40' Bridge on this trail. Discussion was held on the feasibility of buying 40' trusses instead of building them as they would be more cost effective.
Motion was made and carried to buy two High Lift Jacks to help lift up the boardwalks for repairs. They are on sale so we will get a good deal.
Next month meeting will be held at Eustis/Stratton Community Center April 13th 10:00 a.m.
Meeting adjourned at 11:00.
Many thanks to Heather Rice for putting our newsletter together in the absence of our secretary Bevelie Erskine.
