NEW/OLD BUSINESS
As you read in the 1st newsletter we are trying to work out a better way of paying bills when there is no scheduled meeting. So here is our next attempt at resolving the issue for your consideration.
We would like to amend the by-laws to read:
"These by-laws may be altered or amended by a two-thirds affirmative vote of the membership present with not less than 11 members voting. "
Presently it is 21 members. Our meetings are currently being attended by 10-18 members.
"The Board of Directors may authorize expenditures up to $2500.00 without a vote by the membership. The Board may also approve in an emergency-expenditures above $1000.00(with a maximum of $2500.00) with all the majority of board members voting yes to the expense and all board members being notified. The Board may exercise this right only once within our calendar year. The Board is required to explain this emergency expense to the entire membership either by means of a special newsletter or at the next scheduled meeting.
Presently it is $500.00 to $1,000.00, and a max of $1000.00.
ABSENTEE VOTING
We need your help! If you do not plan on attending our next meeting May 4th at 10:00 in the Stratton Community Building; Please put your vote on these two by-law changes in writing and mail them to
