We had a great day for the club ride to the Red Onion Restaurant in Rangeley. We had 15 machines with 32 members attending.

Our ride to Tim Pond will be next Saturday the 14th. They will have a cookout with hamburgers/hot dogs, salad, drink and dessert. Cost will be $15.00 per person. Members will have the option of eating inside or outside. I will need to know by Sunday August 8th who plans to attend as they need a head count for ordering what food they will need. We will be leaving the Eustis Park n Ride above Pines Market at 9:30 am.

Our next ride will be the club cookout at Kennebago Lookout on September 25th

There will be no connection the week of September 13th from Stratton to Rangeley at Flag Dam Bridge over near the Redington Road in Rangeley. The bridge is being taken down and replaced. Hopefully they will be have it done between Monday – Friday so it can be opened back up for the weekend.

Trail Master’s Report: Dale Dunlap, breezy1@tdstelme.net

The trail at Sawyer Brook that runs parrael to Tim Pond Road has been widened, rocks pulled out and   the water drained.

We have been working with Wagner and were able to get a new connection to open the Split Rock Trail back up. We cannot get to split rock as that is on the part of Weyheauser land that was shut down but it does give us the connection across the middle of the trail system back. It starts at Sawyer Brook Road, goes up Tim Pond one mile and then in to the left on the new connector trail. It was an old snowmobile trail at one time and went all the way down to Split Rock Trail. You will only be able to take a right as there is a gate on the left side to keep people off from Weyheauser land. Tim Pond road has been signed heavy with caution signs for heavy trucking and to stay on the right in single file. If any issues are reported with atv’s not giving the right of way to trucking traffic it will go to weekends only and if issues are still reported it will be shut down completely. Also ATV’ers need to use only the 1 mile of Tim Pond road that has been approved with the trail. If the Paper Company find that machines are riding on other sections of Tim Pond Road the trail will be shut down permanently.

Fred is now up on Tim Pass working his way down to Rock Hill and any other areas that may need maintenance.

We have a few small sections that will need to have hay spread around culverts etc. We will be getting some hay within the next few weeks and would like some help with these sections. If you could help us out please let me know.

The 50/50 was won by Fred Smith.  The door prize was won by Lee Morin.

Our next meeting is Sunday, September 12th, 2021 at 10:00 am at the Stratton Community Building.
