Flagstaff Area ATV Club Meeting

Meeting was brought to order by President Don Plante with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Presidents Report: Don Plante damp@tds.net

  • Thank you from Pine Tree
  • Thank your from the Stratton Rec. Dept. for club donation for field trip.
  • Discussion of ATV High Mileage Club if interested.
  • Flagstaff Fuel is having annual open house Saturday May 25th.  Club membership tent, yard sale and craft tents.  Also live music.
  • Lobster Raffle tickets are available from club members and businesses around town.  Winner will be drawn on Family Fun Days on June 29th.  Don’t forget the theme is “OLD LOGGING DAYS”
  • Club members voted to have the annual Land Owner picnic On Saturday September 7th.
  • Sugarloaf Charitable Trust thanked the club for our donation.  100% of the proceeds go to area organizations.
  • Sandy Isgro would like to have a card for members to pass out to truck and jeep riders that we find on our trails.  The card to state the laws to keep them off our ATV trails.
  • The Moose Loop people are planning a club ride that will be posted at a later date.
  • The club has had numerous inquiries from out of state and our out of town riders for information on riding our trails

TREASURER REPORT:   Bob Dennett rdennertt@maine.rr.com

  • All bills paid and club treasury is stable.
  • Discussed if any money should be transferred to the trail account.  No transfer is needed at this time.

Membership Report:  Elaine Marcoux erm@myfairpoint.net

  • The club has 15 more members recently.  Of those one is a business, 12 renewals and 2 new members.  Our total membership is now at 96.
  • If anyone is not receiving the newsletter by email and would like to, please contact us by either email, the website or our Facebook page.

TRAILMASTER REPORT:  Richard Smith  dooer@roadrunner.com

  • April 26th   I put out the mud season signs.
  • April 28th   I closed the gates on Brochu Bridge, North Branch and Halfway Brook.
  • May 1st   I cleared and picked up the Eustis trail from the pit to Mc Carty Hill.
  • May 3rd   Don and I cleared, picked up and put up signs from the pit to the Split Rock trail.
  • May 4th   Joe Marcoux and I cleared the End of the Lake trail. In the afternoon Don and Marianne, Bob and Sally Smith and I cleared Butler Brook.
  • May 5th   I put up NO ATV signs at the snowmobile trail at Bugeye.
  •  May 6th & 8th  I took the excavator out on the Eustis trail and graded, pulled rocks and put in water bars.
  • May 13th   Neal Blaney and I cleared and signed the Windmill Trail and Natanis to the boardwalk. We then moved on to Bradbury Brook and we had to work from both ends as there is slash in the trail near the K&B road.
  • May 14th   Neal and I cleared, picked up and signed the Tim Pass Loop and East Kennebago trails.
  • May 15th   Neal and I cleared, signed and picked up the trail to the Boneyard.
  • May 16th   I took the excavator to Plum Creek Road and straightened out the rockpile.
  •  May 17th   I took the excavator to Split Rock and fixed 3 stoppers to keep trucks out.
  •  May 18th   I checked Bag Mtn and then ditched and graded the Natanis Trail next to the river.
