Our Flagstaff ATV Club Ride to Kennebago Lookout for a cookout this Saturday will be postponed until the following Saturday, October 2nd. If the weather is again bad that weekend we will not reschedule for this year. Please let Edie Dunlap (207-643-2920, breezy1@tdstelme.net) know if you will be attending on the next weekend. Thank you.
Looks like great weather for our ATV Club ride to the Red Onion Restaurant in Rangeley. We are leaving from the Eustis Park n Ride above Pines Market at 9:30. They have given us a menu special for our riders. 10″ pizza (with two toppings), Deluxe Burger/fries, Grilled Chicken Sandwich/fries, Crispy Chicken Wrap/fries, Homemade Meatloaf/ mashed potatoes/green beans, and Fish n Chips/fries/coleslaw. One fountain soda/ice tea/lemonade or coffee is included. The cost for this menu is $15.00 per person and will be collected at the Park n Ride before leaving. If you are planning on going please either give me a call, e-mail, or pm me so I can give them an approximate number of people that will be coming. Thank you.
Please be advised that the Red Onion Ride originally set for July from the 24th, 2021 has been resceduled to to July 31st, 2021.
All of the Flagstaff Area ATV Trails (including the Rangeley Trails) will close for the season on Sunday, November 1st.
The Carrabassett ATV Trail has been re-opened as of October 5, 2020.
Closures: Our Carrabassett Trail is closed until further notice. The Carrabassett Club Trails are closed so there is not connection going anywhere. We do not want our riders driving all the way down our trail just to have to turn back at Route 27. We would hope our riders would not proceed on the other Club’s closed trail as it would just cause issues for them and may prevent any future opening.
Our club ride to Tim Pond Lodge will be on August 15th. We will meet at Johnny’s park n’ ride at 9:00 a.m. And leave around 9:15 a.m. We will be having a cook out of hamburgers, hot dogs, salad, desserts, lemonade, coffee and water. The total cost is $15.00 for this buffet meal. We will collect the $15.00 when we stop for a break. We need to call in on head count by Aug 9th so please call Edie at 643-2920 , send me an e-mail or message me. There will be no one added after Sunday night Aug. 9th. Masks will need to be worn while in the food line. Lunch will be held outside. Thank you.
JULY MEETING: We will not be able to have our monthly meeting July 12th at the Stratton Community Center due to a change in their policies for COVID. Several businesses offered their places to have a meeting and it was decided that The Stratton Plaza would be the best one for members to be able to social distance. The Plaza will be closed on that Sunday so there will be no food, beverages or customers there during the meeting. The meeting time will be the same 10 to 11. Please pass the word to members who may not have facebook or a computer to read it on the website. We will put a sign on the Community Center door that day to direct anyone to the Stratton Plaza if they did not know the change of venue.
Good News! Flagstaff ATV Trails will be open tomorrow which include our trails in Rangeley. We still have a temporary closure for Bradbury Brook, Antler Hill and Wind Tower Trails. There will be some logging being done within the next few weeks affecting Split Rock, Tea Pond area. Will keep you updated. The crew has not been able to get Tim Pass gone through so please use caution on that trail. Quill Hill view road is not open yet, still needs to be graded and calcium put on it. A lot of our signs are missing/down so will be headed out next week to start that process. Please respect our landowners and ride safely so we can keep the trails open. Thank you.
Because of COVID 19 guidelines we will not be able to have a meeting this month. (Sunday May 17th). With the timeline they are giving we should be able to have our meeting next month as we usually have fewer than 50 people. Although would love to see that many people at a meeting! We have plenty of room in the meeting place to space out the chairs to make everyone comfortable.
As of right now the trails will not be open Memorial Day Weekend. Dale and Fred have been trying to get out on them but are still snow covered in places and pretty soft. Hopefully with this warm weather coming they will dry out soon.
