Thank you for coming to our first meeting this year.
We donated $1500 to Quill Hill last fall to help with the upkeep on their road. It certainly sees a lot of ATV traffic and for the most part they are very respectful. Spinning tires and doing doughnuts on the road causes damage which needs to be repaired. Please respect this great place to visit and drive respectfully. We received a very nice thank you note from the family for our donation.
We received a request for Pine Tree Camps for their spring campaign and made a contribution of $100.00.
We have started putting together information for our municipal grant again this year and hope to have it done by the first of May. Rangeley’s ATV Club has not done a municipal grant before so will be helping them get started with theirs as well.
The new laws for ATV registration go into effect this year for 65” wide and 2,000 lbs. All of our trails are currently 66 to 67 inches so should not be much of an issue.
The club would like to have their annual rides to Red Onion Restaurant in Rangeley and Tim Pond Camps so will be in touch with them to get a date that will work for everyone.
A discussion was had about re-naming our Split Rock Trail as we cannot actually get to Split Rock anymore. The split rock is on the land belonging to the Paper Company that shut that part of the trail down. It was decided that since that was the name everyone knew that trail by we would leave it as is for now.
Last year the landowner’s appreciation gift was a calendar with pictures of club rides and volunteers working on the trails. It was very well received and several landowners called just to say how much they liked it. There was a discussion about maybe having a photo contest for pictures next year from members when they were out riding. We will have more discussion on it at the next meeting.
One of our members made a motion that we donate $200.00 to an organization that was sending money to help Ukrainian people. It was voted by the members to make the donation.

Discussion was had about the non-existence of the Moose Loop Trail as we are presently landlocked and unable to get a loop. She is hoping to come up with other ways to draw riders back to the area.

There is still too much snow on the ground to get out and check the trails but are putting the red trail closure signs up for the mud season.
We are waiting for the large land owners to have their meetings and then let us know where and when they will be cutting this year and what closures we are looking at.
Wagner’s Forester he said there were no complaints from the truck drivers on the section on Tim Pond Road they let us use last year to access Split Rock Trail so they are willing to let us use it again this year. Please obey the signs to stay single file and to the right on this section of the road so we may be able to keep it for the year. Without that connection we will have NO ACCESS to the Split Rock Trail. Thank you to all the riders last year for helping us keep this trail open!
We will need some help trimming on trails this year and will be scheduling some work parties. Also while riding it would be helpful to have a pair of clippers with you to maybe clear out some of the signs that may be hidden by foliage or brush that is sticking out into the trails. Every little bit helps, thank you.
Club members voted on renting the mini-excavator again this year for use on the trails.
The 50/50 was won by Karen Murphy, which she donated back to the club, and the door prize was won by Hunter Babineau .
