President's Notes
The meeting was called to order at 10:00am. There were 9 members present. Don covered some news items that occurred between meetings.
Pine Tree Society is looking to sell Christmas Cards for revenue. The Department of Conservation was looking for a Regional Recreation Trails Coordinator. They wanted resumes to be received by November 30th however you can go online and see if the search is still active. We received a thank you letter from the Western Maine ATV Club for our donations for the Toys for Tots fundraiser. There were 502 riders for the event and they raised $1,000 and 627 toys for the community. The toys are valued at $9,500! We have put up signs and gates indicating that our trail system is closed! Please respect this and let's end the season on a good note. For the months of January, February and March we will be meeting at the White Wolf Inn, as usual the second Sunday of each month at 10:00am. For the months of April through December we will return the meetings to the Community Center. The president of ATV Maine will be visiting us next month so we would like to see more members at the monthly meeting. This will offer us all a good opportunity to see what ATV Maine is all about, ask questions, etc. We did discuss the possibility of hosting an ATV Maine meeting in the future. This would mean setting up a dinner and the meeting in the Community Building. Please let us know if you would be interested in volunteering time to this event.
The club is going to groom the land across from the Cathedral Pines campground for Cross Country Skiers this year.
Treasurer's Notes
Bob had to write out a check to Jay Hanna for the web site work and a check to Maine ATV for membership dues. He reviewed the balance and the club voted to accept the treasurer's report. For details please contact Bob Dennett.
Membership Chairperson's Notes
The club is holding steady with 297 members. Ruthanne also reported that we have a new page on the web site "Items for Sale". This will follow over into the newsletter. If you have items for sale (ATV related items) that you would like published in our newsletter, please e-mail to Nancy Hanson at nancyanderic@gwi.net. We will review at our monthly meeting and make sure we get them in the next issue. We also had an article in ATV Maine recently that was submitted by our own Trail Master, Richard Smith. Thank you Richard. Ruthanne volunteered to send a Christmas card to the Town Hall.
Trail Master's Notes
On November 18th Dick rode the new connector to Split Rock. The snowmobile club widened it to a jeep trail. We will have to work on that in the Spring for drainage. We may need some extra gates also to keep trucks out next season. On November 20th, Dick walked a connector trail between SFT land and Plum Creek's Stoney Brook Road for a possibility of a connection to Carrabassett. On November 22nd, Dick walked another connector trail between SFT and Stoney Brook. It is possibly the better one. One and a half miles mostly all dry ground may need 2 box culverts and brushing out. December 8th, Dick put up the trail closed signs on the Pines Trail. Don had put the gates in place.
Secretary's Notes
Nancy reported that she was low on postage money and the club voted to give her $300 for the postal fund for the next several months.
