Presidents Report: Edie Dunlap, breezy1@tdstelme.net
Welcome old and new members.
Election of Officers was held and the members voted to have the previous officers continue for this year. President: Edith Dunlap, Vice President: Sandi Isgro, Treasurer: Gloria Smith. One position is still open for a secretary, Diane Wyman has resigned and we would like to thank her for all her help. Dale Dunlap will stay on as Trail Master and Fred Smith as Assistant Trail Master. Board of Director member Lee Morin was also voted in for another 3 year term.
It was not a great winter and a pretty wet spring so far but hopefully by the first of May things will be dried up enough to get out on the trails to check for damages. We have started on the grant work for this year but will not be able to get it finished until next month after some of the trails can get checked.
The Brochu Bridge project was completed by the end of December. Our club paid our $50,000 as we were asked to do to the snowmobile club and we were then reimbursed for a percentage of it from the state.
We will contact the Red Onion in Rangeley about our yearly ride in July as well as Tim Pond for their date in August. Our end of the year cook out at Natanis will be the last Saturday in September which is the 28th. Family Fun Days will be in August again this year so will keep that in mind for club participation.
Tea Pond camps have been sold to Mount Prospect Academy which is a private entity that works with youths with behavaioral and mental health issues. After discussing this development with Brian Bronson and game wardens it was recommended to close our trail that goes through their property and continues to the Indian Land. We still have a trail to Sawyer Brook Road and up around Elephant Head to Tim Pass. Both of the gates on either side of the Indian Land will remain closed until we can open them to excess the new trail we are working on to Natanis.
Dale and Edie will be going to the ATV banquet the first Saturday in May.
Vice President: Sandi Isgro, sandi.whitewolf@gmail.com
Sandi has still been fielding calls about the Moose Trail and letting riders know we still do not have access through Carrabassett or from Rangeley to make a loop. Hoping there will be some movement on Carrabassett this year.
