Flagstaff Area ATV Club Minutes – November 11, 2018

Meeting was brought to order at 10:00 by President Edie Dunlap with the pledge of allegiance. Attendances were 21.

Presidents Report: Edie Dunlap, breezy1@tdstelme.net

  • Letter from Make a Wish in memory of Carl Dahms.
  • Picture and article on the New Trail Sign for Dick Smith is in the Irregular this week.
  • We have extra magnet/calendars for our members that would like one.
  • Election of Officers:  President: Edie Dunlap (207-643-2920), Vice President: Sandie Isgro (207-246-2922),  Treasurer: Gloria Smith (207-670-8479),  Secretary/Membership: Elaine Marcoux (207-229-2055)
  • Board of Directors: Phil Hill’s term is up – does not wish to be re-elected.  Voted in as his replacement was Jeff Hamilton (207-776-5279). If one board of director is not available Bob Dennett (207-846-3996) will be the alternate.  
  • Move Bank Accounts from Skowhegan Savings to Franklin Somerset Credit Union.

          1) Trail account will have two debit cards – one for Trail Master and one for Assistant Trail Master. Voted and Passed

          2) Main account will have two debit cards – one for Secretary/Membership and one for Treasurer/President. Voted and Passed.

  • Facebook Will Snorr from Avery Wed site has presented a proposal for Facebook that would be informational ONLY.  No charge to the club for set up. Edie will be the moderator for the comments. 
  • Life flight club ride fund raiser will be discussed in the spring.
  • Xmas Party for first weekend in December 2019 will be discussed in the spring.  Pot luck, social gathering and exchange $10.00 gifts.

Treasurer Report: Edie Dunlap, breezy1@tdstelme.net

  • Income:  Donation box at Pines $85.99 and Flagstaff Fuel $99.05 for a total $282.00. Maps sold $1,700.00 cost were $480.00 we profited $1,220.00 we want to send out our many Thanks to our Businesses for selling them. Pines Market, Flagstaff General, Boss Equipment, Chamber of Commerce Rangeley, Rev It Up, White Wolf, Cathedral Pines and Tea Pond.  A check from ATV Me. $300.00 for the meeting held at White Wolf.
  • Expenses:   Transfer $1,000.00 to Trail Fund for clothes/hats. ATV Maine – $80.00, J. L. Brochu $4,040.00 for Carrabassett Trail, $3,720.00 for Plum Creek Road, $1,080.00 for Sand Hill, York Sign $126.00 for Trail Sign, Absolute $37.98 for Hay (end of old boneyard), FABA $100.00, Fred Smith $253.08 for fuel for Kubota and truck to trailer it from job to job, Dale Dunlap $72.50 for screws, Post Office $10.15 for mailing grant, Elaine Marcoux $23.00 for postage to mail calendars and Jordan’s $223.08 for lumber, bolts, screws.  Membership’s dues to ATV Me. for 149 members were $1,790.00.

Motion made and carried to bring the Trail Account up to $2,000.00 in preparation for next spring work.

Secretaries/ Membership Report:  

We have 149 memberships this year. Last year was 180.   All renewal forms and invite letters for next year will be mailed out March 25th 2019 with dates for our meetings for 2019.  

50/50 Raffle was Joe Gallant.  Thank you Joe for donating it back to the club.  A Final 50/50 raffle prize is giving to one of the 8 winners from the meetings was Cassandra Smith. She got a Bag full of wonderful gifts including gift cards etc.

Trail Master Report: Edie Dunlap, breezy1@tdstelme.net

  • Finished up the year with a couple of small projects and the trails are now closed.
  • Kubota was winterized and is being stored inside a garage at the Assistant Trail Master Fred’s house.
  • Side x side is over to Rev It Up in Rangeley to be winterized as well.
  • Our total Grant we applied for was $42,249.36 and will receive $29,574.55.   The total of three submitted bills total out to be $53,271.68. We went over by $11,022.33.
  • We had 41 volunteers who put in a total of 1,373.5 hours.  Including 286 hrs. Kubota, 285.5 hrs. ATV’s, 80 hrs. Chain Saw, 62 hrs. Brush Saw Total 713.5hrs. and 600 hrs. on manual labor (bridges).
  • A million THANKS to all the volunteers for working so hard and keeping the landowners happy.
  • We had a Board of Director with the Arnold Snowmobile Club present Garry Mayo.  Sharing some interest with the trails. We agreed we need to have a better communication between both clubs on these trails that the landowners give us permission to use and enjoy.
