Flagstaff Area ATV Club Meeting Minutes – June 10, 2018

Sixteen (16) members and guest were present. Meeting was brought to order at 10:00 a.m. By President Edie Dunlap with the pledge of allegiance.

Presidents Report:  Edie Dunlap, breezy1@tdstelme.net

  • Thank you from the Pine Tree Society for our donations.
  • HELP WANTED.  We are in need of a Secretary and Treasurer; we have a laptop, and printer/scanner/fax machine for the position. Please call Edie Dunlap at 207 643 2920 or Sandi Isgro at 207 246 2922 if you could help with these positions. The club depends on members donating their expertise and help.
  • Family Fun Day is Saturday, June 23rd. Linda and Jeff will be doing the dough boys and fries again. Fotters donated bowls and spoons, Sandi donated the strawberries and Nancy and Sandi are baking the shortcakes. Dale and Edie will man the shortcakes table.  We need help for breaks on these tables.  Set up will take place at 8:30 Saturday morning. Meet at the C.M.P. shed at 10:00 a.m. with your 4 Wheelers for the Parade ride. Parade starts at 11:00. Theme is Super Hero!
  • Grant has been delivered to the State. We are waiting to hear how much we will be awarded.
  • We have our dates for our club rides this season so mark your calendars and don’t forget to call a week prior if you want to go.  the Saturday, July 14th  ride will be to the Red Onion Restaurant in Rangeley  We start from Johnny Parking in Eustis at 8:30 a.m. and will leave at 8:40 a.m. sharp. There are four lunches from which to choose in addition to soda, water, coffee, lemonade and cookies. Fries come with five sandwiches – Pizza, Pastrami Reuben, Turkey Ranch Wrap, Grilled Chicken or the Really Good Burger. Price is $13.00 plus a $2.00 tip. Deadline to call for the trip is Sunday, July 9th. We will collect the money AFTER we start our ride on one of our breaks. Please call Edie at 643-2920.
  • Second club ride is Saturday, August 18th to the Tim Pond Lodge. We will start from Johnny Parking at 9:00a.m. and leave around 9:15 a.m. We will be having the same as last year – a cook out with hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, desserts, lemonade, coffee and water. The price is $12.00 for the meal and $2.00 for the tip. We will collect money after we start the ride. Will finalize plans at the July meeting. Please call Edie at 643-2920 if you want to go, deadline will be August 14th.
  • Last club ride will be Saturday, September 29th for our BBQ Picnic Cook-Out and fall foliage touring with our friends, club members and guest. We will finalize the event at the August meeting.
  • Thanks to Don Cote and Absolute for donating gravel for our repair projects.
  • Paid Pine Tree Publishing for hosting our club’s website. We have an offer from Will Schnorr to redesign our website and page. He has offered to give us a presentation at a club meeting, motion approved.

Treasurer Report: Edie Dunlap

  • Bills are paid to present.
  • We have a credit card for the trail master now for the trail fund account
  • Memberships $945.00 and Maps sold $430.00 for a total of $1,375.00
  • Expenses: Jordon Lumber $28.16,  Family Fun Day $50.00, Sugarloaf donation $100.00,  Trailer tire $67.47,  J.L Brochu $4,306.00, Website $250.00 for a total of $4,801.62
  • Membership: We have 125 members and 36 Newsletters going out.

Vice Presidents Report:  Sandi Isgro,  sandi.whitewolf@gmail.com

  • You will all notice that the State of Maine has put up the new state signs.  No UTV’s over 60” aloud on the landowners trails. The State has put these signs up per -request of the landowners not the club.  If we don’t follow the law we will lose more trails.
  • Discussion of news on Saddleback Mountain

Trail Master Report: Joe Marcoux,  erm@myfairpoint.net

  • May 22: Joe G.  And Shane went the Sawyer Brook trail and cut trees, brushing and signage.
  • May 24: Elaine and I started opening and pulling signs off to open trails.
  • May 25: Dale and I went on the Butler Brook trail and did brushing, cutting trees and signage.
  • May 26: Elaine and I did gravel pit signage, cleaned trail and moved rocks to get to the Tea and Tim Pond trails.
  • May 29: Dale and Edie resigned the trail to Quill Hill.  Quill Hill Landowner will open his trail and Hill on June 30th Saturday 9:00a.m.  
  • June 1: Dale and Edie did signage on Eustis Ridge Rd. We have to respect this Road (trail) or we will lose IT.
  • June 7: Dale and Edie replaced the culvert by Johnny’s Parking
  • June 7: I spoke with Billion Pines Rep. on a bridge we use that it is in need to be repaired or new one. Went and saw it June 8th it needs a new one.  The owner asked us if we would donate told a repair or new one.  We are talking and will see how we can make it work for all of us.

Next Monthly meeting is July 8th at the Town Community Hall in Stratton at 10:00 a.m.
