President's Notes
Don started the meeting started at 10:00am.  Last week the club had 14 ATV's in the parade.  A big "thank you" to the members that participated in the parade and helped with selling our goods at the event.  A motion was made and passed to make a contribution to the Recreation Department in Memory of Louise Brochu. The club will donate a canopy with a sign in memory of Louise Brochu placed on it.  This will help with summer camp in providing some shelter for the kids during the day programs.  We will be offering another ATV safety course in September due to the great turnout at the last class.  More information to come. We received an invitation to the Pine Tree Society's Open House.  The event is July 28th, from 11:00am - 2:00pm.  A motion was made and passed that the club purchase insurance through ATV Maine that will cost $500.00 for the year.  This will cover members working on trails as well as, other liable situations.  The club will be sending a condolence card to Jim and Ollie LaChapelle

Nancy shared with us that she had an accident a few weeks ago, which resulted in a trip to the emergency room.  She received a call from a game warden a week later and through the process of the call was informed of the following law.  She wanted to share this with other members, so below is the regulation as it is stated in Maine.

Trail Master's Notes
After the June meeting Dick mailed the DEP permit for 2 bridges in the Barnard Pond area, and mailed in the application for the Trail Grant and thanked SFT for the trail connection to Carrabassett.  Don put in a water bar at the trail exit of the parking lot and filled in the wash out.  On June 12th Don and Dick put in a water bar on Bag Mountain and fixed the other ones.  They checked and repaired some of the box culverts on Bugeye Hill and checked the end of the Lake Trail.  On June 13th Dick delivered stock to the end of Lake Trail and worked on the Boardwalk.  On June 14th Neal and Dick rode out and finished the boardwalk and tried to drain some of the water holes.  Don went and fixed the rest of the culverts, water bars and filled washouts on Bugeye Hill and then came out to help the crew on the end of Lake Loop.  On June 15th Neal and Dick took logs out to the end of Lake Loop for the bridge and then rode out to the Carrabassett connection and started to break it open.  Don dragged the parking lot.  On June 18th Dick picked up the junk wood on the Bugeye boardwalk and took it to the dump.  In the afternoon Don, Marianne, Ruthanne and Dick cut open part of the Carrabassett connection on Stoney Brook.  Dick printed maps and newsletters and ordered the excavator.  On June 19th Don put in a flexible water bar on Bugeye Hill and Ruthanne and Dick rode the Quill Hill Loop and signed and fixed some of the trail in the Bone yard.  On June 20th Dick went to Farmington to sign for the excavator and delivered maps to Rev It Up.  He met the excavator and delivered it in the afternoon to Randall who started fixing the Brochu Bridge Trail.  On June 22nd Randall worked with the excavator ditching and building up the trail.  Don rode out to Grand Falls to pick up reported trash.  This was a false alarm; there was no trash to be picked up.  On June 23rd, Randall finished improving the end of the Lake Trail and he and Dick closed it off to give it some time to dry.  On June 25th Randall and Dick took the excavator to Alder Stream and ditched, drained and built up the section near the North Road.  Ruthanne and Dick took bridge stock to Barnard Pond Road and started the first bridge.  On June 26th Don and Dick finished the bridge and took the telephone poles to Tim Pond Road for that bridge.  On June 27th Dick walked into the section of trail on the North Road with planking and covered the box culvert.  On June 29th Dick started corduroying the trail from Tim Pond Road into the bridge site in order to pull in the poles.  On July 2nd Dick finished the corduroying and pulled in the poles and put in one of the abutments.  On July 3rd Don and Dick finished the bridge and they got the new maps (final edition) from Tom LaPointe our map man, to whom we owe a great deal of gratitude.  On July 4th Don, Marianne and Dick spread wood chips on Pines Trail.  On July 5th Dick rode over to the Barnard Pond Trail and re-signed.  On July 6th Don and Dick spread ½ of the pile of gravel on the Route 16 Crossover Trail.  Dick walked the end of the Lake Trail and concluded that it is not ready to ride yet.  On July 7th Don and Dick finished shoveling the gravel on Route 16 onto the trail it fixed that rock pile.  Riders need to understand that just because we have the Carrabassett Connection permits, does not mean we have a finished trail.  It will take a lot of work and will not be ready this season.
We will be checking all of our signage and making it clear that these are class II trails and Jeeps and Trucks are not allowed.
To end the meeting we want to thank Randall Erskine for his donation to the club for trail work and also thank him for all his time and work that he has put in to help us. Thanks Randall!
The meeting adjourned at 11:20am.
There were 19 members present.
