President's Notes

The meeting was called to order on 5/14/06 at the Community Building.  All were welcomed and the agenda was presented. Don asked for money to pay for the community building for our meetings.  Motion was passed.  We will review and vote on the new bylaws at the next meeting when our secretary is back from vacation.  The meeting location will change in September to the Masons Lodge on School Street, (2nd Sunday at 10:00am).  The club voted to allocate $2,000.00 to the Trail Master to buy what he needs for trail work.  Randy Erskine is donating a digital camera to the club for documenting trail work.  Thank you Randy.

Vice President's Notes

Landowner Jack Rivers has agreed to let us use his land for the mud run.  The club decided to do further research on this.  Dick Smith, Don Plante, and Dave Ellingwood will contact Jack and check the land.  We will be doing a booth for Family Fun Days.  The club will be selling Strawberry Shortcake.

Trail Master's Notes

The trails will open on May 20th.  The trail to Natanis (Canadian Trail) has a wash out is has been seeded and hayed.  We met with the State Reps to see what has to be done to repair it.  The trail is closed from the Rt. 27 crossing to the top of the hill until further notice.  Borelex has given us permission to use the power line to Mainly Yours and the Spillover Motel.  Coplin Plantation Selectmen gave us permission to use the road beside the ball field.  Penobscott Indian Nation contacted us asking if we would like to use Alder Stream.  We will contact them to get the permit.  Split Rock Loop has been cleared and signed.  Black Nubble Loop in Reddington has been added to our trail system.  It is cleared and signed.  The new spring maps are done and available thanks to Tom LaPointe.  Gravel has been moved to behind the Irving Station and will be used to cover the corduroy.  Jay and Betty Wyman donated the gravel, Thank you.  SFT has donated a steel bridge and culvert and gravel to fix the Salt Shed Road.  Bob Dalot and Berchard Jackman came up from Jay to fix our beaver problems with pipes, Thank you.  Dick Smith presented our "Over 40 Hours of Trail Work" volunteers with coffee mugs from the state.  They are, Don Plante, Bob Denntee, Ray Charest, Pete Manter, Phil Hill, Ruthanne Smith and Dick Smith.  Thanks to all of you for all your hard work.  ATTENTION - there is an ongoing logging operation with horses between the Eustis parking lot and Perry Road through the summer.

Treasurer's Notes

Bob will be looking for a canopy for the club for special events.  It was decided the canopy would not exceed $150.00 in cost.  This was voted on and passed by the club.  A motion was carried to pay Y.B. Services for 2 days use of a dump truck. The club decided to send Pine Tree Society a 1-year, $50.00 donation.

Membership Chair Notes

Ruthanne reported that we now have 168 members, 22 of these are business members.  The club voted to buy T-shirts with the logo on it.

There were 18 members present for this meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:27am.
The next meeting will be June 11th, at 10:00am at the Community Building.

The club would like to welcome back the snowbirds from Florida and special welcome home to Randy Erskine form Iraq!
