Flagstaff Area ATV Club Meeting

1.) Presidents Report:  Don Plante damp@tds.net

  •  Meeting brought to order at 10AM with the Pledge of Allegiance
  • 20 members present
  • Please buy Lobster Raffle tickets $5.00 each drawing June 25th Family Fun Days
  • We will be having our strawberry shortcake and funnel cake booths at the Fun Days
  • ATV Maine-Our insurance will cover rides and events
  • Our club annual report is due to the State by June.  Don & Bob will take care of getting this done
  • Thanks to Elaine Marcoux for bringing a cherry coffeecake for us to enjoy

2.) Treasurers Report:  given by Don Plante

  • All bills are paid.  No bills pending

3.) Vice Presidents Report:  Sandi Isgro whwolf@tds.net

  • I will be at Tranquility Inn Tuesday to present ” The Moose Loop” to the Maine Tourism Bureau Representative.  Don, Dick and I will be there to answer questions and promote our club trails

4.) Membership secretary: Ruthanne Smith Dooer@tds.net

  • 199 paid members

5.) Trailmaster Report:  Dick Smith Dooer@tds.net

  • April 11th Don and I went to Augusta to the workshop meeting on the 7 day permit.  They voted to charge $53.00 for it and added a fine of $250.00 for not registering your machine.  It goes into effect in 2012.
  • May 13th I went to Halfway Brook on the Natanis Trail and took out the post to open the trail for maintenance to begin
  • May 14th I went to Kingfield for a Best Management Practices workshop on trail construction.  It was offered by the Kingfield Quad Runners and the Bureau of Parks and Lands
  • I will be getting out on the trails this week to check the signs and any work that may need to be done.  The trails are closed at this time with the opening date set for may 28th conditions  permitting
  • One of our landowners, club member Chuck Estey has been hurt in a work related accident.  We wish him well and a speedy recovery

6.)New Business

  • John McCatherine and Neil Trask stated
  •  Carrabassett Club President said they have been in contact with their landowners and will be working on their trails to open soon in conjunction with ours
  • Landowners and Members cookout & Meeting, Don will ask Cathedral Pines for Sept. 10th
  • Tim Pond Ride needs to be scheduled for Lunch in August
  • Cathedral Pines has a new area for camper with ATV trail access
