10/13/2013 28 members were present

Meeting was brought to order at 10 am by President Don Plante.

Presidents Report: Don Plante damp@tds.net

  • The club thanked Elaine and Joe Marcoux on the increase in business sponsors.  Club also thanked the membership for making the club that we have.  The landowners were also thanked because without them there would not be a club or area to ride.
  • Expensive repairs were made to equipment this year.  The club side by side was $2075.00.  The excavator has two separate leaks and members voted to have this looked at and get an estimate.  This will be done at Haggan’s in Farmington.
  • Members voted to give the toy ride $100 as we have done in previous years. Also voted was $100 donation for the annual Holiday Fair at the Stratton School.
  • I talked to the president and trail master of the Arnold Trail Snowmobile Club and things are ready to begin on the North Branch Bridge.  The club will pay for half of the cost of the I-Beam.  The cost of the two I-Beams, 16 feet long is $6,800 and the club approved and voted to pay $3,400.  Per the wishes of the club, this will be the total amount the club will give the ATSC for repairs of the bridge.  A check will be made as soon as an invoice is received.
  • Elections of officers was conducted.  The following persons were elected.  Re-elected Don Plante, President, Sandy Isgo, Vice President, Richard Smith, Trail Master, Elaine Marcoux, Membership and Newly elected Treasurer.
  • Meeting Dates were set for the 2014 monthly meetings as follows:  March 9, April 13, May 18, June 8, July 13, August 10, September 14, October 12.  All meetings will be held at the Community Building at 10 am.
  • It was also voted to send a thank you to Mike and Julie Fergerson of Rev-it-up in Rangeley on the work of trails and working with the surrounding clubs.
  • The club also thanked Peter and Nancy Wagner for taking care of the Website and Facebook page for posting minutes, special announcements .and information.  I have talked to Peter and he has accepted to be the advisor for another year.

Trailmaster Report:  Richard Smith  dooer@roadrunner.com

  • Sept 9th & 12th   I talked with Plum Creek and Trans Canada on access for a new trail. The Alder Stream situation has made it necessary to
    look in another direction.
  • Sept 14th & 15th   I walked AFM and Wagner land looking for possibilities.
  • Sept 15th & 22nd   I put 2 signposts back into the ground, ditched and put in waterbars on the Tea Pond Trail.
  • Sept 25th   I went to the Flagstaff Rd and drained and filled holes.
  • Sept 26th   I finished filling holes on Flagstaff Rd. and went to Butler Brook and worked on ditches.
  • Oct 1st   I went to the gravel pit at the end of our trail into Stratton and cleaned up the broken bottles, cans, tires and rubbish. This is
the reason that AFM put the gate at the beginning of the road. ( This part of the road is not even part of our trail, it just seemed like the right thing to do.)
  • Oct 3rd   I went to the End Of The Lake Trail, hauled in planking, fixed a few holes, repaired a box culvert and put planks over ditches.
  • Oct 4th   I went back to the End Of The Lake and rebuilt the bridge, and filled holes.
  • Oct 11th   I hauled planking in to rebuild the big culvert at End Of The Lake Trail.
